4 things you need to know when selecting a blog theme

Blogs are everywhere on the internet. It is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to create your piece of internet real estate. Many of them have great content, and add much of value in the internet world but loses me due to a poorly chosen theme. In other words, suck their theme. Sorry if that sounds a little harsh, but it is true.

If you are going to spend hours creating great content, not keep it on a blog that doesn't do it justice. Too many blogs are illegible, busy, or just plain boring.

You need not spend thousands of dollars to design your blog, but you need to get an idea of what your readers will want to, you must also make it seem like you care.

Your theme is just another way you can connect with people. Here are four things to consider when choosing a theme:

Colors are important. How many books or magazines, you read about all the pages can be easily colored text on dark background? My guess is no. Use this same philosophy when choosing colors for your blog. Don't choose a blog theme with a dark background. It is difficult to read. Choose colors that are pleasing to the eye, not colors that look cool. Cool is not always good.

, The simpler the better. Has not so much in your theme that people get lost. You want readers to focus on content and possibly your opt-in box. A simple theme keeps your readers that focused on what you want. Flashing ads across the room and gadgets with infinite information, readers lost in this problem. To ensure that they get value from you to build credibility and hopefully get them to opt-in list, or buy your product.

Not be boring. You have ever seen the default theme for your WordPress blog. BORING. A blog with the default theme is a good example of someone who just doesn't care. They are not prepared to put in effort for the appearance of the blog, so what does that say about the content. There are thousands of free themes for WordPress that can be found here. If you know a little more adventurous, try a paid theme. These tend to have more features and more professional feel. My themes on basic themes. My personal blog is in fact one of its themes.

Look at other blogs. You don't need to compute it yourself. Check out some blogs online. What do you like best about them? What do you hate? Go to a few Blogs created by successful bloggers. What does the theme look like? I would not copy them exactly, but try to incorporate some of the functions they have in their blogs. They are successful for a reason. A blog, you can check is Ty Tribble. He is one of the most successful bloggers on the net today.

To sum up, be original and not just slap your blog together. Most readers know the difference because they have seen enough of blogs. These four easy tips to ensure people come back to your blog and maybe spend a little money.
