Domain name: you will receive a free domain name with your Blogger blog, but the domain name will be "yourblogname.blogspot.com" instead of "yourblogname.com."

Owner: You will never really owns your Blogger blog because files and content is available on the blogger's server.

WordPress is a popular platform for blogging. There is a free option that works similarly to the Blogger. But there is also a free option that allows you to have your own Web name. Installing Wordpress on your Web site host, and attach it to a domain name that you own.

Other advantages are:

Customisation: Wordpress themes are varied and ample. Some themes will also make the blog look like an online journal.

Features: Wordpress users have created lots of plugins that will increase the functionality of your blog and help you make the most out of your site.

Wordpress is however not without problems. It is not as user-friendly as bloggers, who can do the intimidating for beginners. You must also spend money to get your domain name and host your Web site.

Despite these drawbacks, most professional bloggers with the option Wordpress because they retain ownership of their blogs and can adapt them to their heart's content, but ultimately the choice is you and what suits your needs best.
